A Nurse Technician who excels in this role:

• Provides essential support to nursing staff by performing basic patient care duties, assisting with daily living activities, and ensuring a safe and clean environment for patients.
• Provide general nursing care such as patient positioning, lifting, turning, and use of assistive equipment.
• Assist with toileting using bedpans, urinals, commodes, or ambulation.
• Take and document vital signs including temperature, pulse, respiration, weight, height, and blood pressure, as well as intake and output measurements.
• Assist in patient admission, transfer, and discharge, including handling personal belongings.
• Maintain a clean and comfortable patient environment.
• Respond promptly to patient call lights, telephone, and paging systems.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

What we're looking for:

• Education: High school diploma or GED required.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Minimum Work Experience: Minimum six months of experience in an acute or long-term care facility.
• Required Skills: Effective communication and teamwork skills. Ability to prioritize patient needs in a fast-paced care setting.

Located on Kennerly Road in St. Louis, Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital South provides care for patients recovering from brain, stroke, or spinal cord injuries, amputations, complex orthopedic injuries, and other conditions. We offer ongoing and specialized care programs to patients throughout the recovery journey, featuring customized, intense rehabilitation tailored to the individual needs of patients.
